Chroma Pendant
The Chroma Pendant draws inspiration from German abstract artist and colour theorist Josef Albers (1888-1976). Renowned for his iconic colour square paintings, which feature three or four solid planes of colour layered within one another, Albers theorised the absolute relativity of colour. I have always been drawn to the simplicity of Albers' use of colour in his series Homage to the Square. Taking inspiration from Albers, I explore colour play through the layering of transparent geometric shapes, which is a nod to Albers' seemingly simple squares.
